Slow Cooker Picadillo (Betty Crocker)

2 lbs ground beef
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1 cup raisins
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp salt
¾ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground cumin
½ tsp pepper
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 medium apples, peeled and chopped
2 can (10 oz each) diced tomatoes, undrained
½ cup slivered almonds, toasted

Cook beef and onion in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown, drain.

Mix beef mixture and remaining ingredients except almonds in slow cooker.

Cover and cook on low heat setting 3-4 hours or until most of the liquid is absorbed. Stir in almonds.

Serve over rice.
